Irene Meta is a Legal Consultant with strong expertise in public law, regulatory compliance, and international legal frameworks. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania and an LL.B from the University of Dar es Salaam.

Irene’s experience spans both government and international institutions. She currently serves at the Cereal and Other Produce Board (CPB), where she advises on legal matters, conducts regulatory research, and supports compliance initiatives. Previously, she worked with the National Electoral Commission (NEC) as a State Attorney, where she played a key role in ensuring electoral integrity, reviewing legal frameworks, and supporting litigation in election- related cases.

Her international legal training includes programs facilitated by the United Nations, Sanremo Institute, and the Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict. She has also represented her institutions in prestigious moot court competitions, including the Jessup International Rounds and ICC Moots. Outside her legal work, Irene is an active youth and community leader, currently serving as General Secretary for the Youth Congregation in the Diocese of Dodoma, with a history of leadership in youth, environmental, and education-based initiatives.
